A REVIEW OF THE GEMS GOLF SEASON

1st NOVEMBER 2019 to the 31st OCTOBER 2020

IT WAS AN UNUSUAL 12 MONTHS....

There were 31 days of GEMS Competitions

There were 21 days when no play took place
(1 because of Snow, 4 because of Rain and 16 because of Covid restrictions

********************

AVERAGE ATTENDANCE

In 2016-2017 it was 20.5

In 2017-2018 it was 22.4

In 2018-2019 it was 24.6

In 2019-2020 it was 27.1

This is a substantial increase due in no small part to the enforced use of the BRS System.
It provides the certainty of a tee-off time and avoids frustrating delays in a Roll-Up queue.
Will this now become a permanent arrangement?

********************

During the 12 months, 41 Members played.

34 Members won at least 1 ball

So by calculation 7 Members played and did not win a ball. No Names!!

***************************************************

is awarded to the Person winning most golf balls in all 11 hole competitions during the year.

2nd place:- 6. Steve Hunt, Chris Jones and Charlie Middlewood.

AN ALL TOO FAMILIAR NOTICE

LOCKED DOWN in the dumps, LOCKED IN at home

and LOCKED OUT from the Golf Course .

If there is any, printable, news you wish to pass on to fellow GEMS members
whilst we are 'absent from Class' please let Mike know.

Similarly he will be pleased to receive any photographs
of how this enforced 'leisure time' is being spent.

These could include having a snooze, a daily walk, cleaning the car, sweeping leaves, shifting snow,
some d-i-y, stacking the dishwasher or even washing-up. Anything.

The Web Site will continue to be updated every Thursday.

So until we are able to return to the first tee - stay safe everyone.
